It was selected to be part of a European study to support the development of best practice guidance on waste management plans for the extractive industries in accordance with Article 5 of Directive 2006/21/EC.
It was recognised within the European Union as an exemplary company of good practices in circular economy:

Through Strategic Minerals Spain, it is part of the Galicia Sustainable Mining platform (https://minariasostible.gal/es/metales/) which includes mining companies that exploit raw materials in a sustainable way in Galicia.
It was awarded the EBAE 2019/2020 edition (European Business Awards for the Environment).
It was invited to participate in workshops organised by European organisations:
Through Strategic Minerals Spain, it has engaged in European partnerships for the development of the critical raw materials sector from a sustainability and circular economy perspective.
October 2020: Strategic Minerals Spain is a member of the DG Grow governance group of EIP on Raw Materials.
Since December 2020: Strategic Minerals is a member of European Raw Materials Alliance (ERMA).
These acknowledgements have resulted in the 2019 JRC Science for Policy Report (Recovery of critical and other raw materials from mining waste and landfills. State of play on existing practices) making us one of the 10 examples of European projects with their own section, reflecting good practice in the recovery of critical raw materials.
